This cherished Nicaraguan estate coffee is grown at altitudes between 3,000 and 4,000 feet in the highlands of Matagalpa and Jinopega. The beans are distinguished by an unusually deep green color and, when roasted, give off an intense and alluring aroma. Santa Lucia's medium acidity delivers an unparalleled brightness in a clean flavorful cup that finishes with a hint of chocolate.   Of all of our single estate coffees, the El Cielo Estate from Nicaragua is the only one to maintain it's wonderful taste characteristics through the natural decaffeination processes (water and CO2). A panel of five star chefs presented the grower with an award for best new gourmet item on the Food Network in 1997 and I couldn't agree more. This is quite simply the finest decafe on the planet.

Specialty coffee, a term that refers to the highest-quality green beans roasted by true craftspeople, is
surprisingly affordable. One cup costs about 24 cents (based on 50 cups/lb @ $12/lb) ---making it cheaper
than bottled water.

To be considered truly fresh, coffee should be ground right before brewing and brewed within three to seven
days of roasting.

Strong-tasting coffee has no more caffeine than its weak-tasting counterpart. Caffeine contributes no taste;
it's a product of the type of bean, water-to-coffee ratio, and brewing method.
